Join Our Chorus!

Come make music on Thursday evenings with a joyful, hardworking chorus of 50 singers from all walks of life and levels of experience. Under the direction of noted music director and educator Dr. Susan Glass, The Glass Menagerie — now in its 40th year — presents two concerts a year for a large, loyal, and appreciative audience in beautiful and welcoming Manhattan venues. Our adventurous and eclectic repertoire spans classical masterworks from every era, music rooted in folk and vernacular traditions, and the work of living composers.

Our May 3, 2026 concert, Et Lux Perpetua will feature Gabriel Faure's Requiem, along with a select group of pieces around the theme of "Perpetual Light."

Rehearsals for our Spring 2026 season begin on January 8, 2026 and take place every Thursday during the academic year from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at either LREI - Little Red School House (272 Sixth Avenue at Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014) or LREI - Elisabeth Irwin High School (40 Charlton St., New York, NY 10014).

If you are interested in singing with us this Spring, please join us a rehearsal on January 8 or January 13, 2026. Susan Glass will audition you during the rehearsal break. Come see if this is the chorus for you! No audition preparation is necessary, but singers interested in joining us should have some prior choral experience and a basic ability to sight read music. The rehearsal beforehand will give you a good idea of our level and our way of learning.

To sign up, please complete the webform below. If can’t make the either the January 8th or January 13th rehearsal, please complete the sign-up form anyway, and we’ll try to accommodate you.
