Come make music on Thursday evenings with a joyful, hardworking chorus of 50 singers from all walks of life and levels of experience. Under the direction of noted music director and educator Dr. Susan Glass, The Glass Menagerie — now in its 34th year — presents two concerts a year for a large, loyal and appreciative audience in beautiful and welcoming downtown venues. Our adventurous and eclectic repertoire spans classical masterworks from every era, music rooted in folk and vernacular traditions and the work of living composers.

Our May 5, 2019, concert "The Miracle of the Spring," takes its title from the program's main work, a suite of five songs for chorus and percussion by Bob Chilcott on the theme of water. The concert will feature many other pieces that focus on water — on streams, rivers, lakes, seas — and the role it plays in our lives and the life of our planet.

Rehearsals begin on Januaury 10, 2019, and will take place every Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at LREI (Little Red School House/Elisabeth Irwin High School), 272 Sixth Avenue at Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014.

Auditions for our 2018-2019 concert season can still be scheduled.

Come to an audition and see if this is the chorus for you. No audition preparation is necessary, but singers interested in joining us should have some prior choral experience and some ability to sight read music.

If you'd like to audition, please complete the form below, and someone will be in touch with you shortly.  Thank you!
