Come make music on Thursday evenings with a joyful, hardworking chorus of 50 singers from all walks of life and levels of experience. Under the direction of noted music director and educator Dr. Susan Glass, The Glass Menagerie — now in its 35th year — presents two concerts a year for a large, loyal, and appreciative audience in beautiful and welcoming Manhattan venues. Our adventurous and eclectic repertoire spans classical masterworks from every era, music rooted in folk and vernacular traditions, and the work of living composers.

Our December 14, 2019, concert will feature Mozart's Missa brevis in F major, his Ave verum corpus in D major, and the Lacrimosa from his Requiem in D minor. We will also perform Haydn’s Te Deum in C major as well as pairings of both composers’ drinking songs, opera choruses, and settings of Ave Maria.

Rehearsals begin on September 5, 2019, and take place every Thursday during the academic year from 6:30–9:00 p.m. at LREI (Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School), 272 Sixth Avenue at Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014.

Auditions for our 2019–2020 concert season will take place at LREI on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2019, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and on Thursday evening September 5, 2019, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Interested singers may also join us for the first half of our September 5 rehearsal and audition during the break.
